JRJ Custom Services is a family run business, formerly headed up by the self-confessed auto-fanatic Mr Peter Jordan.  Looking back on life it is amazing to think that an event could so single handily pave your future, how one experience could focus your mind and make you realise “that” is what I want to do but that's exactly what happened.

Back in 1969 a young Peter sneaked into the cinema to watch a double bill of "Bullet" and "Easy Rider" and the love affair with cars and bikes began.  His first bike build was at school, helping his woodwork teacher rebuild his Triumph Thunderbird into a “Captain America”.  Something that Peter recalls as “close but not quite there”…

After converting a BSA C12 to a Chopper Peter turned his hand to cars, completely stripping down and restoring a 1971 Roadrunner.  Peter’s 1980 inaugural trip to the US to buy a Mopar muscle car and ship it back to the UK was also his first venture into the world of vehicle logistics.  The foundations of a future business were forming.

Peter spent the next 12 years working for Exxon Mobil whilst running a part-time shipping business locating and importing a variety of cars and bikes for clients.  Of the stock that Peter sourced and imported at this time were a 1970 Hemi Challenger convertible and a 1970 Hemi Cuda convertible which are still changing hands today circa $3m.

By 1994 the business had grown to the point that Peter decided leave the security of employment and work full time on his bike and car shipping business.  It was a bold yet wise move as word of Peters capabilities was beginning to spread. Alongside Peters new business partner, Martin Savill they were received a commission by Lord March of Goodwood House to build a Jack Sheers replica to be raced in the world famous “Goodwood Revival” meetings and a 5 year commission by a UK collector wanting to amass the best Chrysler muscle car collection in the world.  The latter which still stands today, valued at a considerable sum due to careful and strategic purchasing.

It was coming apparent that more and more clients didn’t just need a shipping company, they also needed someone who could assist with legalisation, registration and lighting conversion when the vehicle arrived in the UK.  Peter sold his business and in 2006 JRJ Custom Services was born.

Fast-forward to today and business has grown – we have continued to develop our IVA and MSVA conversions with our in-house auto electrical technician.  We truly believe that we offer simply the best legalisation package available today.  Our motorcycle workshop has built up to a degree where we now employ a full and part-time electrician and fabricator to deal with the imports and we can proudly say that we have placed more custom and standard motorcycles on the road than any other company with a 100% success rate.

As many of you already know, we had the worst year ever last year. Early April Peter was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour which over the next few months made it more and more difficult for him to pursue the things he loved. Peter fought as hard as he could but it is with a heavy heart I announce he lost his battle in October 2015 with his family at his side. A charity has been set up in his honour and to try and help the fight to rid the world of this disgusting disease.

Michael, our Sales Manager joined us back in March of 2016.

He has spent a lot of his time learning the role and getting to grips with the task at hand.

His knowledge on bikes/trikes and cars isn't great but he is learning and has the right people around to answer any question thrown at him.
